Class 3: Hallé Orchestra School Visit - February 2025

The Hallé Orchestra visited St Agnes to engage the children in an exciting musical experience. Through a carousel of sensory activities, children explored different elements of music. They also had the opportunity to speak with a Hallé musician, learning about life in an orchestra, musical notation, and performing songs together. This inspiring session helped to deepen their appreciation of music and its role in storytelling and emotion.

Class 3: Bridgewater Hall - Halle for Schools - April 2025

The children had a wonderful visit to Bridgewater Hall to enjoy the Halle for Schools concert. They listened beautifully to a range of classical pieces and showed great enthusiasm when joining in with a piece they had previously learned during a visit from the Halle orchestra to our school. It was a fantastic chance for the children to experience the magic of live music and gain a deeper appreciation of classical sounds in such an impressive setting.

Class 2: Music with iPads - April 2025

Making music and refining a musical pattern.

Class 4: Gospel Glockenspiels 'Africa' - November 2025

The children learnt to play Toto’s Africa on the Glockenspiels.

Class 3: “Happy” (Glockenspiel Accompaniment) - October 2025

Linking our positive thinking work in PSHE to music, the children explored the song Happy and created their own glockenspiel accompaniments. They experimented with rhythm and melody, building their confidence and enjoying the chance to make music together.

Class 3: Christmas Carol Service - December 2025

Throughout the autumn term, the children worked incredibly hard rehearsing for our Christmas Carol Service, filling the school with festive spirit along the way. They practised a range of traditional carols, alongside their own class songs and a joint Class 3 and 4 performance. With our biggest turnout in many years, the children rose to the occasion and performed wonderfully, spreading plenty of Christmas cheer. A fantastic achievement — well done to everyone involved!

Class 3: O Fortuna - January 2026

This week, the children explored the dramatic music of O Fortuna, listening carefully and discussing its powerful mood. They worked together as an ensemble, experimenting with sound and rhythm before finishing the week by creating and performing their own simple accompaniments. A brilliant opportunity to build confidence, teamwork and a deeper appreciation of orchestral music.

Class 4: Bugsy Malone Performance - July 2026

The children performed exceptionally well in our production of Bugsy Malone. They demonstrated confidence, resilience and enthusiasm throughout, learning lines, songs and choreography while working together as a supportive team. Their commitment and hard work were evident in every performance, and they entertained the audience with their energy, humour and talent. We are incredibly proud of all the children for embracing the challenge and showcasing the wonderful spirit of our school.
