Modern Foreign Language - French
Class 3: Number Bingo - January 2025
To help develop their knowledge of French numbers up to 31, children engaged in an interactive bingo game. After practicing pronunciation and recall, they put their learning to the test in a fun and competitive way. This hands-on activity helped them build confidence in listening and speaking French, making language learning both enjoyable and effective.
Class 3: Le Monde - February 2026
Throughout this French topic, the children explored where French is spoken around the world, developing their understanding of countries and continents. They practised describing places both orally and in writing, building confidence in using simple sentence structures. As part of their learning, they responded to questions about European capital cities, using French to say phrases such as “La capitale de… est…”. The unit helped strengthen both their geographical knowledge and their growing ability to communicate in French.
Class 3: Moi Magique! - April 2026
During our French topic, Moi Magique!, the children developed their speaking and listening skills through songs, actions and simple instructions. They practised naming parts of the body in French and used actions to help remember new vocabulary — because apparently waving your arms about is educational, and in this case, it genuinely was. The children also explored colours and clothing, beginning to write simple sentences and apply un and une when using masculine and feminine nouns. This unit helped build their confidence in understanding and using French in fun, active ways.
