Mathematics
Class 3: Length - March 2026
In Mathematics, the children explored length through a practical and engaging activity. They began by drawing around their own bodies to create life-sized outlines, which they then used to measure and compare different parts of themselves, including their height and arm span. Using standard units of measurement, the children developed their understanding of accuracy and estimation, as well as practising careful measuring techniques. They also compared their findings with others, identifying similarities and differences. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they applied their mathematical skills in a meaningful, hands-on context.
Class 4: Equivalent Values - April 2026
Children completed a hands-on matching activity where they cut out cards showing fractions, decimals, and percentages and then stuck together the equivalent values. This helped them recognise the relationships between different representations of numbers and build confidence in converting between them.
