Class 3: Model Cars - June 2025
As part of their Design and Technology learning, children designed and created their own model cars. After exploring how axles and wheels function, they planned vehicle designs, considering structure, purpose, and materials. Using a range of tools, they constructed their models with precision—measuring, cutting, joining, and adapting their designs as needed. The project developed their practical making skills and confidence in turning a design into a finished product.
Class 3: Gaudí 3D Models - June 2025
As part of their topic on Antoni Gaudí, children explored his use of natural forms and decorative patterns. Inspired by his mosaic designs and fascination with nature, they created their own reptiles or insects using plasticlay. The children carefully shaped and decorated their models, using bold colours and textures to reflect Gaudí’s unique artistic style while developing their skills in sculpture and design.
Class 4: Fairytale Fashion Starting to Make - November 2025
The children are starting to select their materials to create a modern fashionable look for their fairy tale character in preparation for the runway, they have experimented with ways to join fabric and have worked as a group to create their final design.
Class 3: Christmas Paper Chains - November 2025
Class 3 worked together to create a repeating-pattern paper chain to decorate the classroom for Christmas. Each group followed the colour sequence red, yellow, green and blue, taking care with their cutting and gluing to keep the pattern consistent. The children supported one another brilliantly, checking for any slips in the sequence and helping their team reach the required length. By the end, they had produced colourful chains — and a lovely display of teamwork, getting our class ready for the start of Christmas.
Class 4: Cooking a Delicious Seasonal Meal - June 2026
As part of their DT learning, the children enjoyed preparing and cooking a delicious seasonal meal using fresh, locally available ingredients. They developed important food preparation skills, worked collaboratively to follow recipes and learned about the benefits of eating seasonal produce. The finished dishes were a fantastic success, and the children were proud to taste and evaluate their healthy creations.
